High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Be of good character and reputation as established by an extensive background investigation which will include but is not limited to, a credit history check, verification of prior employment, and professional references from previous supervisors
Successfully complete the Law-fit Physical Agility course
Possess or be eligible for a Virginia Driver’s license upon hire, and have good driving history
Successfully pass all pre-employment testing requirements, to include physical, vision and psychological evaluation
Certified Police Officer
Possess a current Virginia Division of Criminal Justice Services certification as a Law Enforcement Officer.
Experience as a sworn Police Officer conducting patrol in the state of Virginia.
Good standing with current and/or previous LE agencies
Must meet all requirements listed above for non-certified Police Officer candidates
Communications Officer Qualifications
At least 18 years of age on date of hire
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Excellent verbal communications skills; ability to multi-task and operate a computer keyboard
US Citizenship or 10 years of lawful citizenship
