The division is looking for new and certified officers and dispatchers. Starting salary for new recruits is $48,465, with an increase to $53,312 after completion of all training requirements. All new recruits undergo 25 weeks of training at Crater Criminal Justice Training Academy in Disputanta, Virginia.

Lateral transfers from other state agencies will receive a salary offer that is comparable to that of similarly tenured DCP officers.
